Patrick Dempsey becomes Enchanted lawyer

To Sci-Fi Wire, Patrick Dempsey mentions that he has joined the cast of Enchanted, playing a single father and lawyer who helps the princess find her way throughout New York. The article further notes that the film will be using computer animation, rather than traditional.

Darkwing Duck coming to DVD in 2006?

From a “very reliable source,” TV Shows on DVD brings the news that Darkwing Duck, one of Disney’s hit animated series from the early ’90s, will arrive on DVD in 2006. The site further speculates that the DVD set will be released simultaneously with another Disney animated series’ DVD debut.

70 is the magic number: Bambi II moratorium announced

An updated press release for DisneyToon Studios’ Bambi II emphasizes that the film will go into moratorium only 70 days after its release on February 7, 2006. This is “in tribute to the 70th anniversary of Walt Disney’s inception of his animated classic, Bambi,” referring to the year 1936 when work on Bambi commenced.

RIP, Norm McCabe

Cartoon Brew reports on the recent passing of animation legend Norman McCabe. “Between 1934 and 1999, McCabe worked at Schlesinger’s, Warner Bros., US Army Air Corps Training Film Unit, MGM, Swift Productions, Five Star Productions, Telemation, Pacific Title, Hanna-Barbera, Filmation, DePatie-Freleng, Ruby-Spears, Filmfair, Marvel and Universal.”

Peter Pan flies again
