Apple Computer Inc. chief executive Steve Jobs revealed today a new iPod video player, containing a 6.35 centimeter (2.5-inch) color screen on which music videos, television shows, and photos may be viewed. In what he referred to as a “landmark deal,” Jobs also unveiled a negotiation between Apple and Disney, through which iTunes will carry such popular television shows as Desperate Housewives and Lost. “This is just the beginning of what we believe will be a long and prosperous relationship between Apple and Disney,” said Robert Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company. Additionally, six short films from Pixar Animation Studios will be available to download at iTunes, for $1.99 apiece. The Agence France-Presse (AFP)[1] and Reuters[2], both via Yahoo! News, have more on this story.
