Wallace & Gromit DVD game series coming to the U.S.

C21 Media reports that a DVD game series based on Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit is on its way to the U.S., due to a deal between Zoo Digital and LA games producer/distributor Snap TV. This will mark the first time a Zoo Digital Publishing product has been published in the country.

America's Next Muppet arriving soon

Variety has a rundown of the latest happenings on America’s Next Muppet, which will borrow concepts from American Idol and America’s Next Top Model. Thus far, ABC has ordered a script and five script outlines for the series, in which a new member for the Muppet gang will be discovered.

Going McBoing Boing on DVD

DVDtoons has the cover artwork for Cartoon Adventures Starring Gerald McBoing Boing, from Sony Pictures. The release marks the first time the classic cartoon character is predominantly featured in DVD form, though four of his shorts made their way onto the Hellboy DVD.

Broadband Enterprises to distribute Warner Bros. shorts online

Animated video shorts from Warner Bros. Online will soon be syndicated by Broadband Enterprises, the company announced today. In a broadband network of more than 400 websites, programs such as Looney Tunes, Gotham Girls, Timberwolf, and Cartoon Monsoon will be distributed online, in Macromedia Flash.

Pixar targeted by two lawsuits

The LA Times indicates that Pixar has been hit with two separate class action lawsuits claiming that the studio misguided investors with exaggerated projections for the Incredibles DVD. In response, a Pixar spokesman called the lawsuits “completely baseless.”

Turner Classic Movies to air Miyazaki masterpieces

Industry 411 reports that Classic Media and Studio B Productions are co-producing a new animated series of George of the Jungle. The series has already been pre-sold to Cartoon Network US, Cartoon Network Europe, and Nickelodeon UK, with a broadcast date being in January 2007.
