Brother Bear and Looney Tunes get the Barrier treatment

Michael Barrier[1], author of Hollywood Cartoons: American Animation In Its Golden Age and a contributor to the recent Looney Tunes Golden Collection DVD set, offers up his take on a couple of films still in theaters: Brother Bear[2] and Looney Tunes: Back In Action[3]. Sounds like he didn’t have a great night out at the theater, as he doesn’t seem to take to either of these films, though he backs up his arguments with professional insight.

Also new is Barrier’s look at the differences between the film and the comic book of American Splendor[4], as well as a fixed link to an essay he wrote on the box-office no-show of Brad Bird’s The Iron Giant[5] – a nice bunch of reading to get through!
